Life's too short to waste on television and mundane things that make my life boring. I like to learn things; correct that, I like to know things. The act of learning I find completely boring. I like to be able to have a grasp of anything that would come my way. However, I'm too lazy (or temporary A.D.D., whatever strikes your fancy) to sit down and learn things. Currently I am taking a physics class that I'm interested in. I like the stuff, but Physics, above all studies, takes the longest to learn. I would like to able to read the chapter - speed read in this fantasy - and learn everything the author intended a college student to learn from his/her writings. Alas, I need to spend hours doing problem after problem to learn.
I've decided to read a classic novel every month. This month is A Portrait of a Lady. I need silence in order to concentrate on the book, because I just finished Fierce Invalids Home from Hot Climates and that was fascinating to the point I would skip an hour of good nights rest to read it. Portrait is dull, but it has its moments. I tried reading the book while listening to techno but that made my mind race... not good when reading the Portrait.
I am waiting the crucial event of the release of the 11th installment of the Robert Jordan series Wheel of Time. God, the waiting is unbearable. I hope he never dies so that the series could go on for the rest of my life.
Right now I'm poor. I don't mean starving poor but in the sense that I can't go do anything that would cost me money. I can only read, eat, and pay rent. This puts a damper on my new found love of life as I said above. I can't exactly go parasailing with my food money. The point is, I can't afford luxury, this includes internet at home. Fortunately my father did me the great favor of buying me a laptop with a wireless card in it. I am now stealing my neighbor's wireless internet as I write in this blog. I don't like to steal, especially if it hinders other people's things. I am causing his/her internet to be slower than if I weren't using it. I have access to 6 other neighbors internets but most of them have a security on them.
This is my call out to my neighbor. If he/she reads my blog as I know millions do, they will find out that I am using their internet. I know this is unlikely that they will read my blog and know I am stealing it, but it will help me sleep better tonight.
